Biomaterials for surgery and dental applications consist of bone and collagen and are used as scaffolds and control systems for cell growth in the regeneration of human tissue. Their high purity and unique physical and chemical properties make sure that they are perfectly integrated and remodeled by the human body. In ongoing projects we visualize the molecular, microscopic and macroscopic structures of these materials as well as their medical application.
