Heroes on a Pedestal
Give notorious white biomaterials a distinctive look, and in the same time showing it’s purity.
This project delicately balances texture, form and light, in order to create a new, unique visual language for our valued Geistlich Pharma.
The challenge was to create an enviroment where all the different shapes and forms recieve their appropriate treatment of light and shadow, while at the same time stay in line with the look of their fellow biomaterials.
Due to their characteristic microstructures, each biomaterial has its own highly sophisticated texture that has been specially developed for it. -> Scroll down to the making of discover our process.
Nothing excites us more than learning that our animation is being shown at Geistlich's booth at trade fairs around the world.
With a few tweaks and a lot of love, we integrate our animations into a fully functional video presentation.
What do you think of the skillfully placed text? :)
This is the most important questions we as scientific illustrators have to ask ourselfs everytime we start with visualizing medical content.
Most of the time, we cannot - and do not want to - show reality as we see it. The value in our visualizations lays in carfully crafted materials and objects in order to communicate exactly what the client wants.
In this particular case the challenge was to recreate the structure of a complex biomaterial (bone granulat mixed with collagen fibers)
